This is my second purchase of this product. I have two S1x’s one for general purpose carry and when I take for rougher use (eg scuba/ salt water exposure, survival- related expeditions including carving batonning fire bow making etc). The factory Thermorun scales detached where the handle screws went as this material is malleable rubbery in nature and easily tour out of the screw indentures. As there were no aftermarket scales, I was forced to cord wrap the handle of this blade which served its function, but also made the factory sheath no longer an option. These handle scales meet all the criteria for strength, durability, non slip grip (they are unpolished linen micarta which is preferable for a better grip). They are not only flush with the back of the handle, but with the factory knife sheath as well. All bases covered.
